AIRMAR 300WX WeatherStation Adds Bluetooth and IP67 Offshore Model

AIRMAR’s 300WX WeatherStation family adds Bluetooth configuration, improved wind-speed accuracy and an IP67 model for harsher marine installations.

A new generation of compact weather sensing

AIRMAR’s 300WX WeatherStation line replaces the previous 200WX generation with updated communications, improved wind-speed accuracy and wireless configuration. The family combines wind, temperature, pressure, position and vessel-motion data in a compact sensor with no moving wind cups or vanes.

The standard 300WX measures relative humidity in addition to its core weather functions, while the 300WX-IP67 is designed for harsher offshore environments. Both units can feed real-time information into onboard systems using CAN and NMEA 2000 alongside additional supported protocols.

Bluetooth simplifies masthead servicing

Bluetooth connectivity links the WeatherStation to AIRMAR’s CAST app at distances of up to 100 metres in suitable conditions. Crew and technicians can change settings, view data and perform firmware updates from a mobile device rather than removing the sensor from a mast for routine software work.

The app can display information in digital, graphical or combined formats, giving installers a quicker way to confirm operation after commissioning. For yachts with tall rigs or complex mast access, reducing physical intervention can shorten maintenance tasks and limit work aloft.

IP67 variant targets exposed installations

The 300WX-IP67 uses a more heavily protected enclosure for applications exposed to severe spray, weather and washdown conditions. AIRMAR says the newer family also improves wind-speed accuracy and adds J1939 and ISOBUS support alongside marine networking standards.

Integrated GNSS, compass and motion sensing allow the unit to calculate dynamic True wind by removing the effect of vessel movement from apparent wind measurements. The result is a broader sensor package for sailing yachts, motor yachts, support vessels and other platforms that need continuous environmental data.
