Aksìa Capital VI has acquired Amare Group's specialist marine components activity and combined it with Seasmart under the MHI industrial platform.

Two complementary equipment specialists are being brought together

Aksìa Capital VI has acquired the marine-components business of Amare Group and placed it alongside Seasmart within the MHI Group industrial platform. Seasmart was acquired in November 2025, so the Amare transaction is a further step in building a specialist supplier group serving premium yachts and superyachts.

The investment combines expertise without immediately replacing the suppliers' individual identities. Both Amare and Seasmart are expected to continue operating under their own brands, allowing builders to retain familiar technical contacts while the parent group develops shared commercial and manufacturing resources.

Amare's product mix extends beyond fittings

Founded in 2012, Amare has facilities in Modena and Isernia and supplies products including portlights, marine glazing, gangways, hydraulic systems and wireless controls. The range touches several practical parts of a yacht, from safely transferring guests ashore to opening a hatch in a way that respects the surrounding architecture.

Seasmart brings its own experience in deck hardware and high-end components. For a shipyard, those product categories may be specified by different designers or technical teams, so a combined supplier group could potentially help coordinate installation requirements and after-sales service across more of the vessel.

The management structure preserves founder involvement

Michele Benvenuto Preziuso is remaining chief executive of Amare Group and is reinvesting alongside the new owner. That combination of retained leadership and new industrial backing is intended to protect detailed product knowledge and existing customer relationships.

Private-equity consolidation can introduce useful resources, but for custom projects the practical test is whether engineers remain available to respond quickly to unusual specifications. An integrated catalogue has little value if deliveries, technical drawings or spare-part support become harder for the yard to obtain.

Why yacht components are difficult to standardise

Superyacht hardware is often designed for a specific opening, deck configuration or load case. A retractable passerelle must work within a constrained stern structure, and a large glazed opening must meet both design and technical requirements. Wireless automation also requires careful communication with the yacht's electrical and control network.

These needs make it important for a manufacturer to coordinate early with naval architects, designers, yards and technical surveyors. Combining firms with complementary expertise could help, but there is no guarantee that every product family can be integrated without detailed engineering.

What the acquisition does and does not mean

MHI describes the strategy as establishing a European platform for premium marine components, using shared investment and distribution to support product development and international growth. The announcement is an industrial change affecting the supply chain rather than a new yacht order.

Owners, captains and refit managers will be most interested in whether the new structure strengthens parts availability, warranty continuity and technical assistance after delivery. Those are measurable outcomes that will emerge as the combined businesses operate, not facts proven at the moment the acquisition was signed.
