The Magellano 30M’s 29.7-metre platform combines Ken Freivokh styling, Yachtique interiors and Azimut’s Dual Mode semi-planing hull.

Azimut’s Magellano 30M remains a 29.7-metre crossover motor yacht with a five-guest-cabin layout and two MAN V12 engine choices in the builder’s published specification. The model’s Dual Mode hull is engineered for both extended low-speed cruising and faster passages, placing it in a different design category from the yard’s Grande 30M.

Length and use of space

Azimut gives the Magellano 30M a 29.7-metre overall length, maximum beam of 7.06 metres and loaded draught of 2.05 metres. The accommodation includes five guest cabins and three crew cabins, with ten guest berths and accommodation for five crew.

Those dimensions make the model eligible for Superyacht Guide’s 24-metre-and-above fleet rather than the smaller-yacht sister site. It should not be confused with the 28.69-metre Grande 30M, whose specification and design philosophy are separate.

A hull developed for two speeds

The Dual Mode hull has a semi-planing geometry and double chine with a more vertical bow. Azimut attributes the concept to P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture and its research team, aiming for efficiency across a wider speed range than a conventional single-purpose form.

The builder quotes up to 20 percent lower fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions against vessels of similar size and weight with traditional hard-chine hulls. This is a defined comparison in manufacturer material, not an independent guarantee for every loading condition or route.

Engine choices and tanks

Two MAN V12 options are given at 1,550 and 1,900 horsepower per engine. Their respective maximum test speeds are listed at up to 20 or 24 knots, with cruising-speed figures of 16 or 18 knots under the specified test conditions.

The fuel capacity is 14,500 litres and fresh-water capacity 2,130 litres. Actual voyage planning still requires the vessel-specific fuel curve, reserves, weather allowance and the captain’s assessment of conditions.

Design for long stays

Ken Freivokh designed the exterior and Yachtique the interior, emphasising protective bulwarks, full-height windows and materials whose colours refer to the sea. The layout supports a slower cruising lifestyle but retains a choice of higher-speed operating profiles.

This is an original technical model review based on Azimut’s current official information, not a fabricated September launch or sale. The photograph is the manufacturer’s Magellano 30M image and is distinct from the Grande series picture used in earlier news.
