Baglietto has launched the first 49.9-metre FAST50, an aluminium sub-500 GT yacht combining four-engine performance with large interior volumes.
Baglietto has launched hull 10268, the first yacht in its new FAST50 series. The 49.9-metre aluminium yacht remains below 500 GT while combining four-engine propulsion with the interior volume expected from a much more conventional displacement platform.
The model is intended to reconnect Baglietto with the fast aluminium yachts that became a defining part of the brand’s identity. Rather than repeat older designs, the yard has translated that performance brief into a contemporary hull and layout.
The FAST50 uses four MTU 2000 M96L engines and is designed for a top speed of around 30 knots. Francesco Paszkowski Design developed the exterior and the interiors with Margherita Casprini, while Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture handled the naval architecture.
The stern is arranged across two levels, with fold-down bulwarks expanding the beach platform and a concealed transformer replacing a conventional passerelle. Those details allow the aft area to operate as a larger waterside lounge when the yacht is stationary.
Full-height opening windows on the main and upper decks are used to strengthen the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Baglietto has also moved ventilation trunks outside key internal areas to free more usable volume within the main saloon.
The first FAST50 therefore combines two priorities that once tended to sit at opposite ends of the market. It aims to deliver the speed associated with Baglietto’s historic fast yachts without sacrificing the generous social spaces expected by current owners.
