Benetti’s 80-metre full-custom FB291 has arrived in Livorno with its main structures complete and is entering outfitting ahead of a planned 2028 launch.
Benetti’s 80-metre full-custom FB291 has reached the Livorno shipyard with its principal structures completed. The project is now entering outfitting, moving from large-scale fabrication into the detailed integration of systems, interiors and final finishes.
The yacht is scheduled for launch in 2028 and is one of the yard’s strategically important custom projects. Livorno serves as Benetti’s principal hub for large steel yachts and provides the infrastructure required for vessels of this complexity.
Cassetta Yacht Designers is responsible for both the exterior and interior design. Benetti says the unified approach is intended to translate the owner’s requirements consistently across the yacht rather than separating exterior architecture from the interior experience.
FB291 is arranged across six decks and has been engineered around extensive customisation. The project therefore relies on close coordination between design, structural engineering and the specialist teams responsible for outfitting.
Benetti describes the project as an example of the production chain linking different facilities within the group. Major structures can be fabricated and prepared before the yacht moves to Livorno for the more labour-intensive outfitting phase.
That operating model allows the yard to manage several large projects simultaneously while reserving Livorno capacity for complex final assembly. FB291 will now remain one of the yard’s most visible long-term projects as work progresses toward the planned 2028 launch.
