Benetti Reveals 70m Project Clear Waves With Solar Glass Dome

Benetti has revealed Project Clear Waves, a 70-metre custom concept developed with Luca Dini Design & Architecture around natural light, wellbeing and a highly glazed architectural language. The steel-and-aluminium yacht is designed for 14 owners and guests across seven cabins.

The project centres on a large Glass Dome intended to combine structure, landscape and interior space into one continuous environment. Benetti describes the concept as a step towards what it calls regenerative luxury, with technology integrated into the architecture rather than treated as a separate layer.

A 70-metre custom platform for 14 guests

Project Clear Waves measures 70 metres overall and uses a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure. Accommodation is specified for 14 people in seven cabins, placing the concept firmly within Benetti's large custom-yacht programme.

Luca Dini Design & Architecture is responsible for the exterior design and overall concept as well as the interior and deck design. That single design responsibility is intended to keep the yacht's exterior geometry, guest spaces and wellbeing brief closely connected.

Glass Dome creates 360-degree views

The most distinctive feature is the Glass Dome, whose sweeping glazed surfaces are designed to provide uninterrupted 360-degree views. Benetti says the structure is intended to blur the boundary between the yacht's interior, its occupants and the surrounding marine landscape.

Beneath the dome, the concept incorporates an onboard garden that brings greenery into the heart of the yacht. Natural light, sea views and planted areas are used together to create a more restorative atmosphere rather than a conventional enclosed upper-deck room.

Solar panels become part of the architecture

Solar panels are integrated into the Glass Dome itself, where they filter incoming light while generating energy for the yacht's hotel load. This allows the energy system to perform an architectural function as well as an electrical one.

The approach is significant because it avoids treating photovoltaic equipment simply as hardware added onto a finished design. Benetti instead uses the panels as part of the shading, visual identity and environmental concept of the upper structure.

Wellbeing organised deck by deck

Benetti says each deck is dedicated to a different dimension of wellbeing, including movement, mental balance, social interaction, clean air and pure water. Technology is intended to operate largely in the background while the guest experience remains the visible focus.

Project Clear Waves remains a concept rather than an announced construction contract, so its importance lies in the ideas Benetti is presenting to future custom clients. The 70-metre proposal shows how the yard is exploring large-yacht architecture in which glazing, renewable energy and wellness spaces are developed as one design system.
