Besnati has detailed its HURLO 325, a compact 330hp jet-powered tender that can double as a superyacht water toy and is designed for garage stowage.

Besnati outlines a dual-role superyacht tender

Besnati founder Davide Besnati has detailed the HURLO 325 jet-powered craft in a new interview published on 20 October 2026 after the tender's appearance at Cannes Yachting Festival. The Italian builder developed its 3.25-metre model to address the awkward choice between stowing a practical service tender and carrying an additional watersports craft.

The HURLO 325 is an auxiliary vessel, not a full-size superyacht, and its relevance is as equipment for the parent yacht. The maker is pursuing performance and customisation within dimensions intended to work with the garages of existing larger yachts.

A new 330-horsepower powertrain

The latest configuration uses a 330hp Belassi Turbo marine engine, replacing the 170hp Rotax package shown in an earlier prototype at Düsseldorf. The change led to revisions of the seat, steering equipment, fairing, suspension and electronic controls, according to the founder.

Belassi's official partnership account describes the combination of its Austrian marine powertrain and Besnati's Italian design programme. Using an engine offered directly to the boatbuilder is intended to simplify integration compared with modifying a donor personal watercraft.

Claimed speed approaches seventy knots

Besnati told SuperYacht24 that tests with four adults aboard reached nearly 60 knots, while a solo run approached 70 knots. Those are company-reported trial figures rather than an independently certified speed record under standardised conditions.

The founder also stressed that the craft should be usable at moderate speeds, such as twenty or thirty knots, not simply fast in an empty-water performance run. Captains must assess tender operations against crew qualifications, sea state, local speed limits and the safe carriage of guests.

Garage height shapes the layout

The 3.25-metre model has a 1.78-metre beam and a design aimed at fitting into existing yacht garage envelopes. A retractable helm console and folding seatback help reduce its occupied height when secured aboard the parent yacht.

The storage problem is more complex than overall length, since a crane or davit must also handle the fully loaded tender. Buyers should verify actual transport weight, lifting points, chock geometry, charging or fuelling requirements and clear access for servicing.

Control screen and custom finishes

A 12.5-inch floating touchscreen integrates electronic functions, while the bespoke approach allows owners to choose colours, upholstery and other visible materials. Besnati has described fender elements made from closed-cell polyurethane with protective finishing designed to cope with everyday contact alongside docks.

The founder also discussed marine-fabric coverings and personalisation that can echo the name or appearance of the yacht carrying the craft. For an operational tender, such choices should be weighed against abrasion, salt-water exposure and the frequency of guest transfers.

Manufacturing plans extend between Italy’s regions

Besnati describes a production chain involving northern Italy and facilities at Castelsardo in Sardinia, with plans to bring more machining and specialised processes under direct control. Its investment includes a five-axis CNC machine, composite-finishing equipment and large-format 3D printers for bespoke parts.

The founder said the base price was around €60,000 before VAT, with custom equipment likely to affect the final specification. That is a quoted starting indication rather than a confirmed offer for every configuration or destination.

Original interview and buyer checks

The October founder interview supplies the new detail, while the official Besnati and Belassi websites establish the product and powertrain relationship. The accompanying photo is provided by Belassi as a manufacturer partner, not generated artwork.

The HURLO 325's attraction for a larger yacht lies in combining guest transport and recreational driving, but adoption depends on a safe fit with the parent vessel's systems. Independent checks of equipment, operational insurance and local waterway requirements remain essential.
