IBEX 2026 Adds More Than 50 Marine Engineering Education Sessions
IBEX plans more than 50 education sessions across ten tracks, covering engineering, materials, onboard systems and boatyard operations relevant to yacht industry teams.
Cantiere Rossini has begun a €2 million crew and staff facility at its Pesaro superyacht refit yard, with completion scheduled for October 2027.
Cantiere Rossini has broken ground on a new approximately €2 million building at its superyacht refit facility in the Port of Pesaro. The 38-metre-long structure is intended primarily for yacht crews and shipyard personnel, with completion scheduled for 1 October 2027 after the foundation stone was laid on 19 September 2026.
The ground floor is planned around technical areas, storage and operational services, while the first floor will concentrate on crew use. Plans include a dedicated crew office and a 130-square-metre gym overlooking the harbour and yachts alongside the refit facility.
A large lounge and two outdoor terraces are also included, with one facing the shipyard and Adriatic Sea and the other oriented toward Pesaro. The spaces are intended to support everyday crew life as well as meetings and maritime-sector events.
Around 65 percent of the structure is planned in timber from controlled sources, according to the project information released around the groundbreaking. High insulation levels and a large solar-panel area are intended to reduce operating demand and make the new building largely energy self-sufficient.
Those measures extend the yard’s investment beyond pure lifting and paint capacity into the environment used by crews during lengthy refits. For captains and managers, quality crew facilities can matter on projects lasting weeks or months because personnel remain closely tied to the yard throughout the work.
Cantiere Rossini says the former industrial site was acquired in 2015 and required about €19 million of initial redevelopment. A further €6 million was invested in two large paint sheds in 2020, bringing cumulative investment to roughly €27 million once the new crew building is included.
The current yard includes two controlled repainting sheds for yachts up to 55 metres, hardstanding for multiple yachts and a 560-tonne travel lift. Its sheltered dock provides twelve berths for yachts up to 55 metres, alongside shore services required during refit and maintenance periods.
Most of the construction is expected to be substantially complete around two months before the formal 1 October 2027 target. The project is therefore a medium-term infrastructure addition rather than a facility that visiting crews can use during the present autumn refit season.
The yard currently employs about 35 people directly in addition to specialist contractors working on individual projects. Superyacht Guide has used the industry release for the new-building details and Cantiere Rossini’s own website for established yard capabilities, rather than treating the expansion as already operational.
