DeepBlue Rebuilds Crewing Package Around Contracts, Planning and Payroll

One crew record across several daily workflows

DeepBlue has released a significantly redesigned Crewing Package that connects contracts, crew planning and payroll around the same crew record. The company says the change is intended to reduce repeated data entry when employment terms, rotations, leave or allowances change during normal yacht operations.

The package also brings timesheets and Hours of Rest into the wider crewing workflow. For captains, pursers and management companies, the operational benefit depends less on adding another standalone tool and more on whether personnel changes propagate consistently through the records already used for payroll and compliance.

Contracts, Planner and Payroll are linked

DeepBlue describes Contracts, Planner and Payroll as parts of one connected process rather than separate modules requiring the same information to be entered repeatedly. A contract amendment or rotation change can therefore be reflected in subsequent payroll calculations without rebuilding the crew member's data from scratch.

The company also links completed payroll information into its Finance Package. That creates a direct connection between crew administration and accounting, although operators still need appropriate review controls for employment terms, tax treatment, allowances and any jurisdiction-specific requirements.

Designed for changing crew circumstances

Yacht crewing records change frequently as people join or leave, rotations move and leave periods are extended. DeepBlue's redesign is intended to make those changes easier to manage across a larger crew by keeping the underlying record consistent between planning, payroll and day-to-day administration.

The new package is part of DeepBlue's broader yacht-management platform and is being promoted ahead of Monaco Yacht Show 2026. As with any operational software change, yacht managers will need to assess migration, permissions, data quality and existing payroll processes before assuming that a connected workflow will remove all manual checks.
