Fraser's 2026 Monaco captains' awards recognised crews aboard VIRTUOSITY, NAFISA, HAZE 2, O'PTASIA and K2 for environmental, safety and charter achievements.

Monaco evening recognises work behind the scenes

Fraser gathered superyacht captains, crews and industry partners at the Yacht Club de Monaco for its 2026 Captains’ Soirée and Awards. The event, presented under the theme A Night Under the Stars, celebrated operational contributions that receive far less attention than a yacht's exterior design or charter brochure.

Five yacht teams received awards relating to sustainability, safety, crew leadership and charter performance. Fraser named VIRTUOSITY, NAFISA, HAZE 2, O'PTASIA and K2 among this year's recipients, describing distinctive strengths in the programmes managed by each team.

The recognition is organised by Fraser and should not be confused with an independent classification or global ranking. It nevertheless provides insight into the practices owners and management companies value over a full operating season.

Environmental systems and stable crews

VIRTUOSITY was recognised for sustainable operations in an award sponsored by Palumbo Upfit. Fraser cited onboard solar technology, propulsion efficiency and a micro-ecosystem among the yacht's approaches to reducing environmental impact.

These features should be understood as the company's descriptions rather than independently measured carbon or fuel savings. Environmental performance depends on actual use, maintenance and the way systems are operated throughout a voyage.

NAFISA earned the safety and operational excellence recognition sponsored by Peninsula Yacht Services. The company highlighted the stability of the crew, strong professional relationships and a welcoming atmosphere alongside the practical discipline required to operate safely.

Charter performance reflects repeatable service

HAZE 2 received the charter-management recognition following its debut season. Fraser reports 68 charter days across the Caribbean and Mediterranean, with repeat bookings already arranged, indicating that guests responded positively to the yacht and its crew.

O'PTASIA was recognised for outstanding charter performance after a reported 117 charter days. At 85 metres, the yacht operates at a substantial scale where guest experience depends on many departments coordinating precisely over extended periods.

John Dragnis of Golden Yachts accepted the award on behalf of Captain Evangelos Berdos and the O'PTASIA crew. Their recognition illustrates the close relationship between onboard service, shore management and the ability to execute a complex charter programme.

K2 and the value of long-term consistency

K2 received the final award for the overall charter experience, with Fraser recognising six seasons of consistent performance. The company highlighted Captain Enrico Orselli and his team for reliable guest service and their willingness to solve problems as requirements change.

A successful charter season is more than a tally of days sold. Crew retention, safety drills, effective communication and appropriate maintenance windows all help prevent a busy schedule from undermining the standard guests expect.

For owners, the awards reinforce the importance of investing in people and well-managed operations. Fraser has reported the winners and named achievements, but the event does not establish independent financial returns or compare every yacht operating in the global charter fleet.
