30.5m Hatteras MAGIC Heads to No-Reserve Auction

The 30.5m Hatteras motor yacht MAGIC is scheduled to go under the hammer in a no-reserve auction in Jupiter, Florida, on 8 October 2026. Boathouse Auctions currently lists the yacht at $4.495 million and says opening bids are expected from $2 million, giving prospective buyers two distinct reference points ahead of the sale.

No-reserve auction set for October

Boathouse is marketing MAGIC on a no-reserve basis, meaning the October auction will determine the transaction rather than a conventional advertised asking-price negotiation. The $4.495 million listing figure remains the yacht's published pre-auction price, while the expected $2 million opening-bid level should not be interpreted as either a reserve price or an indication of the eventual sale result.

The auction is scheduled for 8 October in Jupiter, Florida, placing MAGIC on the market roughly a month after the campaign became public. For buyers, the format creates a defined timetable for due diligence and bidding rather than the open-ended process associated with a conventional brokerage listing.

Hatteras pedigree with a major 2020 refit

Built by Hatteras Yachts in 2005, MAGIC is presented by Boathouse as a 100ft yacht with a substantial refit completed in 2020. The auction house states that approximately $1.2 million was invested during that programme, making the refit an important part of the yacht's current sales proposition.

Boathouse also records a June 2024 MTU QL6 overhaul, adding a more recent mechanical milestone to the work completed during the 2020 refit period. That maintenance history will be particularly relevant to bidders assessing the yacht beyond the headline auction figures.

Five-stateroom layout for private cruising

The official auction listing describes MAGIC with a five-stateroom layout, giving the 30.5m yacht a configuration suited to extended private cruising and guest use. Rather than presenting the vessel as a new-build proposition, the campaign centres on the combination of established Hatteras construction, the 2020 refit and subsequent mechanical work.

At 100ft, MAGIC sits at the smaller end of the superyacht market but remains large enough for the auction result to provide a useful reference for comparable older American-built motor yachts. Condition, maintenance history and the extent of the refit are therefore likely to be as important to bidders as the original build year.

A direct market test for MAGIC

The no-reserve structure will ultimately provide a clearer market signal than the current listing price alone. Until bidding closes, however, the $4.495 million advertised figure and the expected $2 million opening bids remain separate parts of the auction campaign and should not be reported as an achieved transaction value.
