ISA Yachts has presented the 86-metre Poseidon as a custom design project, combining Enrico Gobbi styling, extensive wellness facilities, flexible guest cabins and projected long-range performance.

An 86-metre project, not a yacht launch

ISA Yachts has presented Poseidon, an 86-metre custom superyacht concept within the ISA Large Yacht Collection. The latest announcement concerns a detailed design proposal rather than a newly launched vessel or a confirmed delivery, an important distinction as the Italian group expands its ambitions at the highest end of the market.

The project has been developed with Enrico Gobbi – TEAM for Design, which is responsible for both exterior styling and the interior, while naval architecture comes from ISA Yachts' own technical department. It has a published beam of 12.8 metres and is planned around an extensive division of private, guest and working areas.

A high bow and a long, low silhouette

The design features a slightly curved, high bow and a superstructure positioned comparatively far aft. ISA's signature arch has been refined to reduce obstruction to glazing, while the air intakes and selected exterior elements take inspiration from high-performance sports cars.

These are deliberate aesthetic decisions, but they also affect sightlines and the distribution of outdoor decks. The published images are architectural renderings showing the intended vessel, so prospective owners should distinguish finished construction from the yard's proposed materials and shapes.

An expandable beach club at the stern

The stern platforms open around a lower-deck beach club with fold-down wings, a bar, a sea-facing lounge and a whirlpool with glass sides. Additional balconies are intended to create more direct access to views and fresh air from the wellness spaces.

A corridor links the waterside area to a gym, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms. For a large yacht, putting these uses close together allows guests to move between exercise, relaxation and the water without returning through the principal formal entertaining rooms.

A second pool defines the main deck

At the aft end of the main deck, designers have proposed a T-shaped swimming pool with a whirlpool area and larger swimming section. The surrounding glass and trim have been styled with an automotive influence, creating a distinctive visual feature above the beach club.

Inside, the main saloon combines lounging, cinema and dining functions, with routes for guests and crew kept separate where practical. This circulation approach is relevant to privacy on charter and private yachts where meal service and housekeeping continue throughout the day.

The owner's upper deck is almost a private residence

ISA intends the upper deck to be reserved primarily for the owner, including a suite surrounded by extensive glazing, a study, dressing room and substantial bathroom. The accommodation opens toward a foredeck designed around a long swimming pool and generous lounging areas.

The foredeck could also serve as a touch-and-go helipad when configured appropriately. This is a proposed dual use, not evidence that an aviation certification or operating approval has already been issued for a completed Poseidon yacht.

Another panoramic lounge above

The top deck contains an enclosed sky lounge under a roof shaped to evoke a sports-car cockpit. A further Jacuzzi and open lounging space provide elevated views, adding another social environment away from the more active swimming and beach-club facilities.

Combining multiple entertainment areas is appealing to owners who host groups with different preferences. How those rooms ultimately function will depend on an owner's specification, final weight distribution and the technical systems included during construction.

Accommodation options for twelve or fourteen

Two principal guest layouts are being proposed, with six cabins for twelve guests or seven cabins for fourteen. ISA also describes ten cabins for a complement of eighteen crew, supporting the large service and operating requirements of an 86-metre yacht.

A room-count option does not by itself establish charter certification for fourteen paying guests in any given jurisdiction. Flag rules, crew qualifications and the final arrangement would need to be settled during the design and approval process.

Steel, aluminium and an ambitious range figure

The proposed construction uses a high-tensile steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with a full-load draft of about 3.6 metres. Twin MTU 16V4000 M63L engines, each rated at 2,240 kilowatts, underpin the builder's stated top speed of seventeen knots and cruising speed of fourteen.

ISA also reports an estimated range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles at twelve knots. That is a projected performance figure for a design, not a documented result from sea trials of a completed yacht, so owners should request updated calculations as the final specification develops.

Large-yacht capacity remains part of ISA's strategy

Giuseppe Palumbo, who leads Palumbo Superyachts, says ISA currently has fourteen superyachts under construction. The group is also building a one-hundred-metre vessel expected to become an ISA flagship, making Poseidon another expression of the yard's technical and design ambitions.

The disclosed Poseidon project brings several potential choices together, including a garage for a tender as long as 9.5 metres in a space that could otherwise contain the gym. Its future construction, owner configuration, final cost and delivery date remain matters requiring separate confirmation.
