The 54m Mangusta GranSport 54 BETSY has been delivered following a three-year construction project, with MarineMax representing the owner throughout the programme. Built by Mangusta Yachts, BETSY is the fifth hull in the GranSport 54 series and moved through final commissioning in Viareggio after her launch in Pisa.

Delivery follows a three-year construction programme

MarineMax says its team worked with the owner across the three-year project before BETSY reached delivery, extending its involvement from construction through the yacht's final commissioning period. The company identifies Charles Helgeson, Bob Fritsky and Kyle Pillsbury among those involved in representing the client during the build.

The delivery marks a distinct stage from BETSY's earlier launch, when the fifth GranSport 54 entered the water at Mangusta's Pisa facility on 24 June 2026. Following that milestone, the yacht continued to Viareggio for commissioning before progressing into operational use.

29-knot performance with long-range capability

Mangusta gives the GranSport 54 a maximum speed of 29 knots, combining the model's performance focus with the cruising capability expected from a yacht of this size. The shipyard also states a range of up to 4,200 nautical miles at 12 knots, a figure that provides a specific reference for the yacht's lower-speed passage-making capability.

Those two figures define the unusually broad operating envelope Mangusta promotes for the series, from high-speed coastal passages to longer-distance cruising at displacement speeds. MarineMax separately describes BETSY as offering transatlantic range, while the numerical 4,200-nautical-mile figure is the specification published by Mangusta itself.

Design developed around the GranSport 54 platform

Mangusta credits Alberto Mancini Yacht Design among the design contributors to the GranSport 54, alongside the shipyard's own technical expertise. Overmarine Group is also identified through its Engineering Department in the official project information, with Ausonio among the other names associated with the yacht's development.

BETSY therefore combines the established GranSport 54 platform with the owner-specific decisions made during the three-year construction period. Her position as the fifth unit also means the project benefits from a series that had already moved beyond its initial hulls before this yacht entered the water.

From Pisa launch to delivery

The June launch established BETSY as the fifth GranSport 54, but the subsequent delivery is the point at which the yacht moves from construction and commissioning into service. That distinction makes the MarineMax announcement a new development rather than a repetition of the earlier launch milestone.

With delivery now completed, BETSY adds another 54m yacht to Mangusta's operational GranSport fleet while closing the three-year build programme described by MarineMax. The yacht's 29-knot maximum speed and Mangusta's published 4,200-nautical-mile range at 12 knots remain two of the defining technical figures attached to the project.
