Marine Impact Lab Returns to Metstrade 2026

The Marine Impact Lab will return to Metstrade 2026 with an expanded workshop-led format focused on turning marine-industry sustainability goals into practical business action. The 2026 session is scheduled for 16 November from 14:00 to 17:00 at RAI Amsterdam, immediately before the main exhibition.

From sustainability theory to implementation

The programme combines peer-to-peer learning, expert-led workshops and facilitated networking for marine businesses, designers, engineers, entrepreneurs and sustainability specialists. Organisers describe the Lab as a place to examine tools and methods that companies can apply directly rather than limiting the discussion to broad environmental targets.

Collaboration is central to the format, with organisations including Marine Futures and Foxall Munro involved in delivery. The programme is also intended to share existing tools and expertise more widely across a sector in which smaller companies may lack dedicated sustainability teams.

Commercial as well as environmental pressure

The Marine Impact Lab frames sustainability as a commercial and operational issue as well as an environmental one. Regulation, customer requirements, lifecycle assessment and supply-chain expectations increasingly influence how marine companies design products, measure impact and plan future investment.

Bringing the Lab into Metstrade week places these discussions alongside the equipment, materials and technologies being offered to the wider marine industry. For superyacht builders and suppliers, that connection is particularly relevant as lifecycle impact becomes a larger consideration during new-build, operational and refit decisions.
