MSM Yazılım, the software arm of yacht outfitter MSM Yacht Interiors, joins Dijitalpark Technopark with ALFA, a platform linking furniture manufacturing and onboard installation.
MSM Yazılım, a group company of MSM Yacht Interiors, has been accepted into Istanbul's Dijitalpark Technopark with its ALFA software project. The announcement, published by the Turkish yacht interiors business on 10 October 2026, marks a new development stage for a system that originated inside MSM's manufacturing operation rather than being designed solely as a separate off-the-shelf software product.
According to the company, ALFA began as a way to coordinate different stages of furniture production and make project data accessible to employees. It has since developed into a broader operating platform intended to connect scheduling, purchasing, inventory, production and the onboard installation phase. The technopark admission recognises the group's software research and development activity; it is not evidence of a completed rollout across the wider superyacht industry.
An interior subcontractor supplying an individual superyacht may have to manage hundreds of joinery pieces, each with drawing revisions, material choices, customer approvals and installation requirements. The same component can pass through cutting, assembly, finishing, packing, transport and final fit-out before it is accepted aboard the yacht. Delays or unrecorded changes in any stage can affect the schedule of adjoining trades.
MSM says ALFA supports project planning, work orders, purchasing, personnel and manufacturing, while a separate partner interface lets shipyards see current project progress. Making this information available to the yard could reduce reliance on informal status messages, provided that the underlying records are accurate and each team uses a consistent set of part numbers, revisions and milestone definitions.
This is particularly valuable when an interior package requires components from several suppliers. A shared dashboard does not eliminate the need to manage physical samples, tolerances and site surveys, but it can help identify whether an apparent delay relates to material delivery, workshop completion, packing, or access to the installation area.
The group also describes a second initiative, Dark Design Office, which is still under development. Its proposed purpose is to translate yacht interior designs into production-ready technical drawings and manufacturing data, including machine instructions known as G-code for computer numerically controlled equipment. If successfully implemented, this would address a laborious stage between design approval and workshop output.
The key technical challenge is maintaining design intent while interpreting materials, joint details, cutting allowances and actual workshop machinery constraints. A rendered interior concept by itself is not sufficient to programme a production line. Engineers must still check geometry, structural considerations, finish specifications and compatibility with equipment selected for each component, especially around curved bulkheads and concealed services.
MSM Yacht Interiors operates from the Yalova area of Türkiye and focuses on producing and installing custom furniture and interior work for yachts. Its move into software development reflects a broader effort among specialist suppliers to preserve craft quality while introducing more consistent factory processes and better coordination with shipyards.
The company says it also hopes to attract young software engineers to yacht production technology. For designers, procurement managers and owner representatives, the practical measures of success will be fewer production discrepancies, accurate installation reporting and clearer accountability. The official photo accompanying this report is taken from MSM's own project announcement and has not been substituted with an unrelated yacht image.
