The 52-metre Perini Navi sailing yacht SQUALL is available through Edmiston for €19.9 million following 2026 painting and rig-refit work.

A Perini Navi ketch with fresh 2026 work

The 52-metre sailing yacht SQUALL is currently displayed in Edmiston's brokerage portfolio at €19.9 million excluding VAT. The Perini Navi-built vessel dates from 2002 and is listed with a substantial 2026 refit, including hull painting and rig work. With design input from Dubois Naval Architects, she represents a performance-minded strand of the shipyard's sailing history and offers buyers a rather different proposition from a motor-led yacht of similar length.

The published information identifies five guest cabins, accommodation described as 10 guests plus two additional berths, and nine crew. At 360 gross tons, SQUALL's proportions reflect a design intended to combine bluewater passage-making with a more direct sailing experience. Buyers will want a breakdown of what the 2026 programme covered and which elements of the rig, machinery and onboard systems remain on established service cycles.

A sporting aluminium construction

The yacht was developed around an aluminium hull and superstructure, with a low, purposeful profile by the Dubois team and a carbon-fibre ketch rig. Edmiston presents this as an important departure from heavier traditional construction associated with some earlier large sailing vessels. The combination of spar arrangement, keel form and relatively light displacement was selected to support capable offshore sailing rather than simply the visual drama of a large rig.

Her auxiliary diesel is identified as a 1,397-horsepower Caterpillar 3412E. The broker quotes a 14-knot maximum under power and a range of about 3,900 nautical miles, although actual speed, range and consumption are dependent on voyage circumstances. For a purchase of this nature, the sailing inventory, mast inspection results, standing rigging documentation and sail-handling equipment deserve the same priority as the engine survey.

Minimalist interiors and deck living

Rémi Tessier is credited with SQUALL's restrained interior aesthetic, including a palette of timber and uncluttered forms. The main deck contains a pilothouse intended to connect watchkeeping with the social spaces, supported by a salon and bar. Behind it, a covered outdoor dining area offers a protected setting for guests to remain close to the sailing experience rather than retreat entirely below deck.

The published accommodation arrangement includes an aft full-beam owner's suite with a split-level design and four additional guest cabins, configured as two doubles and two twins. A large sailing yacht's guest experience depends on much more than cabin dimensions: noise levels under sail, access when heeled and security of loose items should all be assessed during an inspection or sea trial.

What the refit means to prospective buyers

Edmiston describes a full paint programme and comprehensive rig refit in 2026, making the current offer of particular interest to someone seeking an established yacht with recent visible technical investment. However, the phrase 'refit' does not mean every component has been renewed. Independent scrutiny remains essential, especially for spars, chainplates, underwater appendages, hydraulic systems and deck hardware on a yacht designed to cross oceans.

At the current stated price of €19.9 million, SQUALL sits in the market as a substantial Perini sailing yacht with recognised design pedigree and significant recent work. The next step for a buyer is to request the full service history and specification, assess the quality of the completed refit and understand the cost of running an experienced sailing crew. The brokerage listing supplies the headline offer; formal diligence determines its value.
