Praxis Adds Full ISM Management for 60m+ Superyacht

Praxis has expanded its management role for a superyacht of more than 60 metres to include Full International Safety Management support under the Bermuda flag. The mandate adds formal safety, flag and compliance management to services that already include crew employment, payroll and ownership support.

The firm says it has worked with the owner and family office for more than a decade. The latest change therefore illustrates how the management structure behind a large private yacht can expand as regulatory and operational requirements become more complex.

Full ISM joins crew and ownership services

The new scope brings yacht management, safety management, crew employment, payroll and ownership administration into a coordinated service. Praxis says this allows the family office to retain strategic oversight while specialist teams manage the detailed operational and regulatory work.

For a yacht above 60 metres, those functions can cross several professional disciplines. Linking the teams can reduce duplication between crew administration, compliance requirements and the ownership structure behind the vessel.

Bermuda flag compliance forms part of the mandate

Praxis specifically identifies Bermuda flag, compliance and safety-management services as part of the Full ISM support. International Safety Management requirements centre on documented procedures and responsibilities intended to support safe vessel operation and pollution prevention.

The arrangement is therefore more than an administrative expansion. It places the yacht’s safety-management framework alongside the same provider’s existing knowledge of the vessel, its crew and the client’s wider ownership arrangements.

Chase boat brought into the ownership structure

Praxis has also assisted with consolidating related ownership arrangements, including bringing the yacht’s chase boat into the same structure. The firm says this simplifies administration while preserving family-office oversight.

The case is a useful example of the less visible infrastructure required to operate a modern large superyacht. Crew, payroll, safety management, flag compliance and asset ownership may appear separate, but increasingly form parts of one coordinated operating system behind the yacht.
