Ribeye Shows SOLAS, Beachlander and Jet Superyacht Tenders at Monaco

Ribeye's Monaco Yacht Show 2026 programme centred on custom tenders rather than its separate leisure RIB business. Its presentation combined SOLAS rescue, Beachlander and jet-driven configurations, with the manufacturer inviting superyacht captains and technical teams to examine how one hull platform can support different operational roles.

The British builder's official event page identifies SOLAS, Beachlander and jet models as the focus of its 23–26 September display. Ribeye describes its yacht-tender operation as a dedicated business covering guest, crew, expedition and rescue applications, and gives visitors a direct route to discuss a yacht-specific specification. These are not interchangeable fit-outs. A rescue boat must meet the applicable approval regime, while a guest craft needs boarding, comfort and aesthetic treatment appropriate to the mothership. A beach-landing role adds another set of structural and access decisions. The Monaco programme therefore provides more than a general small-boat display.

Beachlander access and propulsion decisions

Ribeye's Beachlander system conceals boarding steps in the bow, allowing guests to disembark towards a beach without relying solely on stern access. Its inboard range offers diesel sterndrive and jet arrangements using Yanmar or Volvo Penta engines, with jet-drive options including Hamilton and Alamarin. The yard lists a 9.8-metre inboard platform with a 2.8-metre beam, 490 litres of fuel and up to 14 persons in its published specification. Those figures relate to an identified model and must be checked against the final build. Conditions on the actual landing beach, guest mobility and crew procedures matter just as much as the engineering concept.

The garage is part of the design brief

Ribeye says it works from the mothership's garage CAD drawings and measurements, prepares a lifting plan and can design or modify chocks around the ordered tender. That approach is essential when a custom boat will be lifted through a restricted opening or stowed close to other equipment. Fold-down structure, fuel arrangements, lift points and service access can change the usable dimensions significantly. The builder also emphasises labelling of electrical and primary systems, giving onboard engineers a clearer starting point for troubleshooting. Captains should include real loading and recovery drills rather than relying solely on a nominal brochure length.

SOLAS duties require clear separation

A rescue craft's certificate and required equipment cannot be assumed from its appearance or from the presence of an inboard engine. Ribeye's large outboard and inboard product families provide several arrangements, but the applicable SOLAS or MED specification must be fixed as part of the individual tender contract. The same caution applies to the crew-and-guest multi-role brief: seats, rescue equipment, lifting and stability can compete for finite space. The official Monaco announcement illustrates how specialist tender builders are addressing these combinations, and the operational decision belongs with the yacht's captain, flag and appointed technical advisers.

Ribeye's published 9.8-metre inboard model lists a weight including fuel of 3,694 kilograms, an illustration of why brochure dry weights and real lifting loads must be kept separate. With guests, equipment and the selected propulsion package aboard, the lift may be very different from a manufacturer's bare platform estimate. Tender procurement should therefore involve the yacht's engineer, deck crew and naval architect early enough for lifting calculations, deck access and charging or fuelling arrangements to be incorporated before final build decisions.
