Sanlorenzo has set out its broadest cultural programme to date, marking a decade of arts patronage with projects spanning Venice, Milan, design, climate and craftsmanship.
Sanlorenzo is marking ten years of arts patronage with a year-long 2026 cultural programme built around Casa Sanlorenzo in Venice and a series of international partnerships. The calendar links art, design, craftsmanship, sustainability and innovation, extending the yacht builder’s cultural activity beyond temporary show installations into a permanent programme.
The 2026 calendar is anchored by the first full year of activity at Casa Sanlorenzo in Venice, restored by Piero Lissoni and Lissoni & Partners. The venue gives the company a permanent setting for exhibitions, research and cultural dialogue rather than relying solely on temporary appearances at fairs and yacht shows.
Sanlorenzo says the programme is intended to connect artistic practice with the same values of material quality, proportion and craft that underpin its yacht building. The residence therefore works as both a cultural venue and a place where the brand can explore ideas that may influence future design thinking.
A central project in the calendar is Waves, presented during the Venice Biennale period from May to June. The exhibition brings together work by established and contemporary artists around the idea of movement and transformation, using the sea as a unifying reference point.
The choice of theme gives Sanlorenzo a direct connection between its maritime identity and a wider cultural conversation. It also allows the company to address the sea through artistic and scientific perspectives rather than treating it only as the setting for yacht ownership.
Sanlorenzo’s 2026 programme also includes Milan Design Week, Venice Climate Week and Homo Faber. Those events place the company alongside architects, craftspeople, designers and institutions working across materials, sustainability and the future of making.
For the yacht sector, the craftsmanship element is especially relevant because custom interiors depend on specialist suppliers and makers whose skills often sit outside conventional industrial production. Supporting those disciplines helps maintain the ecosystem required for highly bespoke yacht projects.
Sanlorenzo traces its formal arts programme back to Art Basel Miami Beach in 2016 and has since worked with institutions including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Venice Biennale. The company says the tenth anniversary is intended as a foundation for a longer-term cultural platform rather than a conclusion.
For Superyacht Guide readers, the significance is the way yacht brands are broadening how they communicate value. Design heritage, cultural patronage and craftsmanship are increasingly presented alongside engineering and performance, reflecting an ownership market in which identity and experience matter as much as technical specification.
