Siebensee Launches Aera and Polaris Superyacht Furniture Collections

Siebensee Outdoor Furniture is presenting two new superyacht furniture ranges at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026. The German specialist is showing the Aera Collection alongside the newly announced Polaris Collection, giving designers two different material approaches for exterior guest spaces.

Outdoor furniture on a yacht has to meet requirements that are more demanding than those faced by normal residential pieces. Weight, corrosion resistance, drainage, UV exposure, secure storage and the ability to remain comfortable in moving conditions all influence how a collection is designed and built.

Aera combines teak with braided leather

Aera was designed by Marie Soliman of Bergman Design House and uses teak together with braided leather detailing. Siebensee says the braided elements are intended to add tactile warmth and visual softness while retaining the material character expected from luxury exterior furniture.

The collection is aimed at open-water use rather than simply transferring an indoor aesthetic onto deck. For yacht designers, that distinction matters because furniture has to work with deck finishes, circulation routes and weather exposure while still reading as part of the wider interior design language.

Polaris moves into sculpted GRP forms

The Polaris Collection takes a different route by using GRP, a fibreglass composite material, for smooth high-gloss forms. Designed by Alberto Essesi, the pieces use rounded, pebble-like shapes that would be difficult to achieve economically in traditional timber construction.

Composite construction also allows shape, weight and finish to be controlled more precisely for a marine environment. The final suitability still depends on how each piece is fixed, drained and maintained, but GRP gives designers greater freedom to create sculptural forms without introducing highly complex joinery.

Furniture is becoming part of yacht exterior architecture

Siebensee produces its yacht furniture in Germany through Finkeldei and Stükerjürgen, with both standard collections and bespoke work available for new builds and refits. The company is using its Monaco stand to show how furniture can be specified as part of the exterior architecture rather than added only after the deck plan is complete.

That approach is increasingly relevant as large aft decks, terraces and beach-club areas become central to the guest experience. At Monaco, the Aera and Polaris collections give project teams two contrasting examples of how material choice can shape the character of those spaces.
