Nautor Swan's second Swan 128, Raijin, adds an energy-management story to the class after her documented April 2026 launch. The shipyard describes a 189kWh battery bank and regeneration under sail, distinguishing this yacht's systems from the first 128, Be Cool, already covered for her rig.
The yard's April announcement identifies Raijin as the second Swan 128, rather than a renamed version of Be Cool. It associates the 39-metre design with German Frers naval architecture and Micheletti+Partners exterior styling while describing a revised interior direction.
Be Cool and Raijin share the model platform but were developed for different owner preferences. A previous technical story about Be Cool's rig does not establish Raijin's battery specification, which has its own builder documentation.
Nautor Swan identifies a variable-pitch propeller and electric-motor arrangement designed to regenerate energy under sail. Its May technical update cites a potential 30–50kW generation rate and a 189kWh battery bank, with charging behaviour dependent on sailing and power conditions.
The claim of up to eight hours of quiet onboard operation is the builder's estimate, not a guarantee for every combination of hotel loads. The system is intended to reduce generator operation at anchor, while still retaining conventional generation capacity for longer demands.
The yard names two 130kW Cummins generating sets and a separate 30kW Fisher Panda unit as part of Raijin's energy equipment. The combination makes clear that the vessel is a hybrid systems project, not a yacht represented as wholly free of combustion-powered machinery.
The interior departs from Be Cool's teak-led scheme, using matte oak, ash and rattan in the published design description. Nautor Swan says the choices are intended to create a warmer contemporary setting within the same large sailing platform.
Raijin's launch was recorded in April, with a planned Mediterranean programme and September event appearance described at the time. Those earlier announcements should not be repackaged as a new 29 September launch or a delivery confirmation.
The substantive technical distinction is Raijin's combination of regeneration, battery storage and conventional backup equipment. The hero is an official Swan 128 model image and is not claimed to be a fresh photograph of Raijin at a particular regatta.
