NAVTOR Digital Logbooks Add Visitor and Remaining-on-Board Functions

A further software update to electronic logs

NAVTOR detailed enhancements to its Digital Logbooks platform on 25 June 2026. Version 2.6.23 includes an integrated onboard Visitors log and a Remaining on Board, or ROB, reporting function.

These functions extend a platform already used to capture and share operational information. They do not remove a yacht’s own flag-state recordkeeping or privacy obligations.

Tracking people and stores

A structured visitor register can reduce separate paperwork when a vessel receives guests, contractors and other visitors. The ROB feature is intended to make it easier for crews to record and report remaining quantities.

The company presents both features as aids to compliance and workload management. Operators must still define what information is required, who can access it and how records are checked.

Simplified records for smaller craft

NAVTOR also describes simplified logbooks for ferry and small-boat use within the update. That broadens the software conversation beyond merchant vessels and large multi-ship fleets.

Superyacht teams considering a deployment should verify which modules and device capabilities apply to their vessel. A generic application feature list is not proof of a particular flag approval.

A controlled change to onboard processes

A new digital log should be introduced with training, data migration, access permissions and an offline contingency. The aim is consistent information, not merely replacing a paper book with a screen.

NAVTOR’s official product announcement and original platform image document the software features. The separate DNV approval announced later in August should be assessed against its own stated certificate scope.
