Teakdecking Systems Brings Full Deck Lifecycle Programme to IBEX 2026

A superyacht teak deck is both a design feature and a large maintenance system spread across some of the most exposed surfaces on the vessel. Sun, salt, traffic, cleaning routines and failed seams all affect how long that deck remains attractive and structurally sound, so the products used after delivery can be as important as the original installation.

Teakdecking Systems is taking that full-lifecycle view to IBEX 2026. The Florida-headquartered, employee-owned company will show products for installation, caulking, cleaning, maintenance and repair, alongside teak, composite, cork and alternative deck systems used on new-build and refit projects worldwide.

ECO-PRO targets staining without an aggressive chemical approach

The newest product in the display is ECO-PRO Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Concentrate. Teakdecking Systems describes it as a plant-based, pH-neutral formulation intended to address mould and mildew staining on teak and other marine surfaces without relying on the harsher acids or caustic chemicals that can damage wood fibre and deck seams.

The concentrate joins ECO-100 and ECO-300 in the company’s deck-care range, giving crews and yards different levels of cleaning treatment rather than one product for every condition. For captains and chief officers, that matters because over-aggressive cleaning can shorten the life of teak even when the deck looks brighter immediately afterwards.

Installation products reveal how much happens below the teak

The IBEX programme also includes marine epoxy adhesives and fairing systems, MPS 4000 bedding and bonding adhesive and SIS 440 teak deck caulking. Those materials are largely invisible once a deck is complete, but failures beneath the surface can lead to water ingress, loose planks and much more expensive remedial work.

Teakdecking Systems develops and uses these products within its own installation and repair work, which gives the company a direct feedback loop between manufacturing and field performance. The practical value for a yard is consistency: the deck panel, adhesive, seam system and maintenance approach can be specified as one linked package rather than assembled from unrelated products.

Prefabrication is changing the way large yacht decks are installed

The company’s wider deck programme uses digital templating and CNC manufacturing to prefabricate panels in controlled conditions before they reach the yacht. That can reduce the amount of cutting, fitting and finishing required in the shipyard, particularly on large refits where schedule pressure and access to specialist labour can vary considerably between locations.

For a superyacht owner, the benefit is not simply faster installation. Factory-controlled panel production can improve repeatability and reduce the number of corrections needed after installation, while allowing specialist deck teams to work across projects in different countries without reproducing the entire manufacturing setup locally.
