Ultimate Catamarans Presents 42m Q140 at Monaco Yacht Show 2026

Q140 joins the Monaco presentation

Ultimate Catamarans is presenting the 42-metre Q140 as part of its Monaco Yacht Show 2026 programme at stand QJ17. The aluminium catamaran sits within the company’s Q-Line, between the 32-metre Q110 and larger Q170 and Q200 concepts.

The builder describes the Q140 as a four-deck platform intended to provide the usable guest space of a substantially larger monohull while retaining catamaran stability and privacy. It remains a custom-build proposition, with layouts and interiors developed around the individual owner rather than a fixed production arrangement.

15.5-metre beam and large guest areas

The published specification gives the Q140 a 15.5-metre beam and four decks. Ultimate Catamarans quotes 427 square metres of guest interior space and 472 square metres of exterior guest space for its representative custom layout.

Accommodation is proposed for up to 12 guests in as many as six cabins, with an optional private owner’s deck positioned aft of the bridge. The company notes that areas may vary with the final owner specification, so the current figures describe the concept layout rather than a completed yacht.

Hybrid performance targets

The Q140 is listed with a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 12 knots and a 16-knot top speed in hybrid configuration. Ultimate Catamarans presents advanced hybrid propulsion as a core element of the wider range, but final machinery and battery arrangements will depend on individual project engineering.

As with any concept-stage performance data, the published figures have not yet been demonstrated by a completed Q140 at sea. Real-world endurance will depend on displacement, hotel load, machinery selection and the owner’s final technical package.

A broader aluminium catamaran range

The Q-Line currently extends from 32 to 62 metres and is designed around aluminium construction. Ultimate Catamarans says it is working with an experienced European aluminium catamaran shipyard, while naval architecture and detailed engineering are developed around each model and owner brief.

Monaco gives the company direct access to owners and project teams evaluating large multihulls against conventional monohulls. The next meaningful milestone will be a signed Q140 construction contract or a named build partner for a specific hull.
