Vitters has signed a contract for Project 3097, also known as Project SY 07, a 53-metre sloop-rigged sailing yacht for an experienced owner. Dykstra Naval Architects is responsible for naval architecture and exterior design, with Vripack developing the interior.
The yacht is intended for long-range world cruising while retaining enough performance for occasional superyacht regattas. Her hull takes inspiration from pilot cutters, combining a pronounced aft overhang with modern hydrodynamics and careful weight control.
The deck plan is organised around the owner-helmsman and family use, while the interior revisits sailing-yacht styling from the 1920s and 1930s in a contemporary form. A main-saloon bar is planned as one of the interior signatures.
Accommodation is arranged for eight guests in four cabins, with crew quarters for seven. Van Ineveld & Co will act as owner’s representative across technical specification, budget and construction schedule.
The yacht targets a lightship displacement of 230 tonnes and 253 GT. A telescopic lifting keel will vary draft from 4.5 to 6.9 metres, while a mast just below Panamax height will carry about 1,200 square metres of sail.
Vitters plans keel laying in January 2027 with delivery scheduled for early February 2029. The project adds another large custom sailing yacht to the yard’s order book and reinforces its focus on owners who want both serious cruising range and active sailing performance.
