Aegean Yacht’s 41m HECATE explorer project is being marketed for €16.95m, with construction in Bodrum and an advertised May 2028 delivery date.
Aegean Yacht’s 41-metre explorer construction project HECATE 41M EXP has been advertised for sale with an asking price of EUR 16.95 million. The listing concerns a yacht under construction in Turkey, with delivery provisionally scheduled for May 2028, not a completed vessel ready for inspection afloat.
The listing describes the project as the second hull of a 41-metre explorer family, with a layout that emphasises guest accommodation and open deck areas for longer periods aboard. The Bodrum-based builder is known for steel and aluminium custom construction, but the detailed specification and delivery terms of this particular contract must be assessed individually.
Project photographs and computer-generated design renders should be understood as illustrations of intended spaces. They are not proof that the final appearance, equipment or completion date has been guaranteed under a signed contract.
The marketing particulars describe a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with a beam of 7.5 metres and gross tonnage of approximately 340. The overall length is given as 40.99 metres, putting the design comfortably within the sector of full-time professionally crewed superyachts.
Propulsion is specified as twin MAN D2862 LE469 diesel engines rated at approximately 1,325 horsepower each, with a quoted cruising speed of twelve knots and a maximum speed of sixteen knots. These are planned specification figures and should not be represented as sea-trial measurements from a vessel that has not been delivered.
Some secondary sales websites have published conflicting draft figures for the project, so any serious buyer should obtain a builder-certified specification showing the actual design draught and applicable loading conditions. The same principle applies to tank capacity, electrical load and the operation of stabilisation equipment.
The advertised accommodation programme provides for twelve guests across eight cabins, including two full-beam owner suites, two VIP cabins and four single cabins. The number and mix of cabins could allow extended-family parties to retain some privacy while still using shared social areas.
Outside, the proposal includes a 2.7-metre swimming pool, large sunbathing areas and a dedicated gym. These amenities are distributed across three decks that aim to bring interior and exterior guest spaces together, but the actual arrangement should be checked against the general arrangement plan and engineering documentation.
Crew spaces, storage, emergency access and technical circulation must also be examined because a yacht with numerous guest cabins can place significant demands on hotel services. An attractive design render cannot establish that all these needs have been adequately resolved.
Buying an unfinished yacht differs fundamentally from acquiring a vessel already in commission. An owner needs to understand the position of the existing construction contract, progress payments, title to completed work and equipment, change-order rights, survey access and the remedies available if milestones slip.
The potential advantage is that a buyer may have input into some remaining interior and equipment decisions, depending on how far construction has advanced. Any such changes can affect cost and delivery schedules and should be recorded formally rather than left as informal expectations.
The EUR 16.95 million asking figure is a published offer rather than a verified completion cost or a concluded sale. Independent technical and legal advisers should establish the vessel’s current stage, builder responsibilities, flag options and final specification before a buyer commits to this individual 41-metre project.
