Azimut’s Magellano 27M has won the 2026 Design Innovation Award in the category for superyachts over 24 metres. The award was presented at the Genoa International Boat Show and recognises projects for research, innovation and design quality across the yachting sector.
The jury highlighted the model’s break from conventional styling, its layout and the relationship between interior spaces and the sea. The result follows the yacht’s world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, where the first production example introduced the third generation of Azimut’s Magellano crossover range.
Exterior styling is by Jarkko Jämsén, while the interiors were developed by AMDL CIRCLE with Michele De Lucchi and Davide Angeli. The design places particular emphasis on the way glazing, circulation and furniture open views toward the water rather than treating the interior as a series of enclosed rooms.
The Magellano concept combines long-range cruising characteristics with a contemporary residential approach. The 27M extends that formula into a larger platform while retaining the range’s focus on comfort across varying sea conditions and speeds.
The Design Innovation Award is promoted by Confindustria Nautica and I Saloni Nautici and is now in its seventh edition. Recognition for the Magellano 27M gives Azimut another design credential as the builder expands its new-generation crossover offering.
For buyers, the more important test will be how the yacht’s architectural ideas translate into day-to-day cruising and owner use. The award nevertheless confirms that the model’s layout and design direction have attracted attention beyond the initial launch programme.
