AquaGPS Extends Yacht Tracking to 85nm Offshore with Satellite Link
AquaGPS combines cellular and One NZ satellite connectivity to extend remote boat tracking as far as 85 nautical miles off New Zealand.
The builder’s Ark of Fate profile documents the first hybrid T52 and the machinery behind its electric and diesel operating modes.
Baglietto’s official fleet now presents Ark of Fate as the 52.32-metre example of its T52 hybrid platform, bringing together a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and an integrated electrical architecture. The first T52 was launched in February 2023 and presented in Portofino that May, so this technical review is not a new launch claim for September 2026.
Ark of Fate is the first T52 fitted with hybrid propulsion, and Baglietto lists its gross tonnage at 497 GT. The published dimensional record gives a 9.5-metre beam, placing the yacht below the 500 GT boundary used in this part of the market.
The builder credits Francesco Paszkowski Design for the exterior and for the interior together with Margherita Casprini. These names relate to this hull and its design rather than an assumption that every subsequently commissioned T52 shares exactly the same interior brief.
The yard describes diesel engines, lithium batteries, variable-speed generators and electric motors as the components of the yacht’s integrated propulsion architecture. The design allows different operating modes instead of depending exclusively on the main engines whenever the vessel is underway.
Baglietto’s original launch release quoted an electric-diesel range of up to 7,600 nautical miles and battery-only operation at anchor for up to ten hours. Those are builder-stated figures under operating assumptions, not independently guaranteed endurance on every route or with every hotel load.
The official fleet profile records twin MTU 16V2000M86 engines, a maximum speed of 17 knots and an 11-knot cruising speed. Baglietto’s original announcement also quoted a 3,600-nautical-mile range for the traditional navigation mode.
The change between conventional and hybrid operation is more than a marketing badge because different electrical and propulsion components participate in each configuration. Yacht owners should still use the final machinery manual and sea-trial records for the actual vessel before making operational decisions.
The T52 arrangement includes a three-level beach club and pool floor that moves to create additional usable deck when the pool is closed. Its opening upper-deck glazing similarly allows the sky lounge to operate as a more open space in suitable conditions.
The supplied image is Baglietto’s official T52 model illustration, not a claim that it shows Ark of Fate during a particular 2026 voyage. This account describes a yacht already in the fleet and makes no new sale, construction or delivery announcement.
