Cantiere Rossini Starts €2m Crew Building at Pesaro Refit Yard
Cantiere Rossini has begun a €2 million crew and staff facility at its Pesaro superyacht refit yard, with completion scheduled for October 2027.
ABYA and the British Marine Boat Retailers & Brokers Association have opened their Certified Professional Boat Broker pathway to brokerage professionals across the industry.
The Association of Brokers and Yacht Agents and British Marine's Boat Retailers & Brokers Association have opened the Certified Professional Boat Broker career pathway beyond its pilot group. The programme creates a structured route from existing broker training through portfolio work and independent assessment toward a recognised professional standard.
The Certified Professional Boat Broker pathway moved into its next stage at BrokerFest during the 2026 Southampton International Boat Show. British Marine says the first participants to complete the pilot were recognised there before the programme was opened more broadly to practising brokers.
The move gives yacht brokerage a clearer professional-development structure in a sector where experience has traditionally been built through individual firms and personal mentoring. A common pathway can make skills and professional expectations easier to explain to employers, clients and new entrants.
CPBB builds on the Practical Yacht Broker Course already delivered through ABYA and BRBA. During the pilot year, the organisations worked with active brokers to test the route, develop online learning, prepare examination material and formalise the portfolio and final assessment requirements.
That combination matters because brokerage competence involves more than sales technique. Brokers need to understand contracts, title documentation, client money, compliance, surveys, sea trials and the practical sequence that takes a yacht from marketing through offer, acceptance and completion.
British Marine describes CPBB as an independently assessed standard rather than simply a course-completion certificate. Participants are expected to demonstrate knowledge and practical evidence through the pathway, creating a stronger distinction between attendance and verified professional competence.
For superyacht clients, consistent standards can improve confidence when brokers operate across different offices and jurisdictions. Professional accreditation cannot eliminate commercial disputes, but it can establish a clearer baseline for conduct, knowledge and continuing development within the brokerage community.
Large-yacht brokerage is international by nature, with buyers, sellers, flags, yards and advisers often located in different countries. A UK-based professional pathway therefore has value beyond domestic boat sales if its training reflects the legal, ethical and operational complexity of cross-border yacht transactions.
Superyacht Guide is recording the wider CPBB rollout as an industry-professionalisation development. The measure of success will be participation, employer recognition and whether the standard becomes useful to clients when comparing the qualifications and experience of individual brokers.
