An October report shows the 42.5-metre 2022 Feadship CALLISTO back at its Aalsmeer builder, with the nature of any maintenance or refit work not yet announced.

A return to the original Feadship yard

The custom 42.5-metre Feadship CALLISTO has been seen back at the Dutch builder's Aalsmeer facilities in October 2026, around four years after her launch from the same yard. An October sighting reported by Megayacht News documents the visit while leaving open precisely what work the owner has arranged.

Feadship has not published a confirmed refit programme, repair requirement or completion date for this return. The responsible description is therefore a yard arrival that may involve service, rather than a completed refit or evidence of any technical problem.

A second CALLISTO created for experienced owners

The yacht was commissioned by owners who already knew the yard from a considerably larger Feadship of the same name delivered in 2006. Their newer custom vessel was designed for a particular Mediterranean berth and an ambition to cruise at greater speed without surrendering comfortable social areas.

The 2022 project used aluminium construction for both hull and superstructure, a departure from the steel hulls common among larger displacement Feadships. The result brought a light, efficient design brief to a fully custom yacht below 500 gross tons.

Twenty-one knots with ocean-going capability

Feadship's published specification gives CALLISTO a maximum speed of approximately 21 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles when travelling at 11 knots. Twin MTU engines rated at 1,939 kilowatts each form part of an engineering package developed to reconcile speed and a relatively generous interior.

These are the builder's original performance figures rather than measurements from the present yard visit. Owners considering similar yachts should distinguish advertised maximum speed from the slower economical cruising speed at which the long-distance range can be achieved.

Interior accommodation and deck design

The vessel provides five guest staterooms, with capacity for ten guests and eight crew according to Feadship's current fleet profile. Sinot was responsible for interior design, while Studio de Voogt developed the exterior and Feadship De Voogt provided naval architecture.

Outdoor living areas were an important part of the original brief, including forward seating and spaces near the water for occasional outdoor meals. Those facilities provide context for why the owners sought a tailored yacht rather than merely opting for the largest hull they could accommodate.

A distinctive bow and compact custom profile

CALLISTO's hull and forward profile were refined to help reduce pitching and drag at higher speed, combining digital design work with physical model testing. The overall length was limited by the owners' chosen berth, making efficient use of volume particularly important.

The broad beam of approximately 9.3 metres supports the yacht's accommodation within that constrained overall length. None of those features establishes the reason for an autumn 2026 return, which remains a separate question for the owner and yard.

The two same-named Feadships are different yachts

The earlier CALLISTO was approximately 65 metres and was subsequently renamed NECTAR after changing hands. That larger yacht has a separate refit and operating history which should not be confused with the 42.5-metre 2022 build now seen at Aalsmeer.

Feadship's official 2022 fleet entry identifies the younger CALLISTO as hull 709. The accompanying photograph is credited to Feadship and is archival, not a claim to show the vessel during the October 2026 arrival.

No refit specification has been disclosed

The current arrival was described by Megayacht News, which explicitly notes that the work expected at the yard has not been disclosed. The next useful update would be direct confirmation from Feadship or the yacht's representatives.

Until then, the recorded development is a return to the original builder. Claims about machinery changes, extensive rebuilding, sale negotiations or other work would be speculative and are not established by the published evidence.
