Furuno’s TZMAP9 and TZMAP13 combine stand-alone navigation, TZ MAPS cartography and built-in TruEcho CHIRP sonar in compact displays.
Furuno has introduced the TZMAP9 and TZMAP13 as all-in-one multifunction displays aimed at installations that do not require a full networked bridge. The 9-inch and 13-inch units combine navigation, charting and fish-finder functions in one display with a multi-touch interface.
Each model includes a built-in TruEcho CHIRP fish finder, reducing the number of separate modules needed for a basic sonar installation. The concept is intended to deliver much of Furuno’s current charting technology without the complexity of a larger NavNet system.
TZMAP uses Furuno’s TZ MAPS cartography, which blends hydrographic charts, high-resolution bathymetry, satellite imagery and community-sourced information. The system is designed to make route planning and local detail available through one integrated chart environment.
Optional radar support gives owners another upgrade path without replacing the core display, while cloud-linked waypoint and route management can be used through a My TimeZero account. That combination makes the unit suitable for compact cruisers, tenders and smaller auxiliary craft that still need capable navigation.
A stand-alone display can be attractive during refits where owners want to modernise navigation without rebuilding the entire onboard network. Fewer separate processors and interface modules can reduce installation time, wiring and the amount of space required behind the console.
For larger yachts, TZMAP is also relevant as a self-contained solution for a tender, rescue boat or secondary craft. The product reflects a broader trend toward bringing high-end charting and sonar functions into smaller integrated displays rather than reserving them for large bridge systems.
