NAVIGO and ISYL have established a dedicated True Yachting Training company for shipyard trades, refit, professional development and emerging technology skills.
Italian marine-industry network NAVIGO and the ISYL Italian Super Yacht Life ITS Academy foundation announced on 15 September 2026 the establishment of True Yachting Training (TYT), a company serving the education needs of yacht businesses and their employees. The partners say it will connect training to specific skills sought by shipyards, refit yards, suppliers, marinas and yacht-service organisations.
TYT is not an entirely new educational concept: NAVIGO already described the brand and training project before the September announcement. The new development is the dedicated corporate structure and expanded professional offering involving NAVIGO and ISYL, rather than the first appearance of the training name.
Technical training covers boatbuilding and refit work through Artieri Academy, including carpentry, joinery, fitting and painting. Specialised programmes also cover Boatmaster, Yacht Chef Master and Yacht Broker qualifications, alongside additional training for people already employed in marine trades.
The partners also list artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainability, customs, regulations, business administration, languages and public speaking as areas of study. Executive programmes target department heads, managers and owners confronting operational change, although the published announcement does not specify a universal course timetable or price for every subject.
Alongside open enrolment courses, TYT intends to work with individual businesses to identify skill gaps and create training tailored to their processes and workforce. That approach can include specialist workshops, retraining initiatives and executive education designed with technicians, captains, university lecturers and other industry specialists.
For the superyacht sector, the relevant challenge extends beyond recruiting entry-level crew to developing the experienced specialists needed for construction, complex refits and onboard systems. The partners frame the programme as continuing professional development, not as a guarantee of certification, employment or promotion after any particular course.
ISYL was founded in 2015 by NAVIGO and leading yards to support technical maritime education, while NAVIGO connects companies within Tuscany's nautical supply chain. TYT is intended to complement existing post-diploma training and international academic partnerships, helping participants progress from initial qualifications to specialisation and management.
The company's initial announcement outlines its areas of activity rather than independently verified results for graduates or participating shipyards. Prospective students and employers should check course-specific entry requirements, recognition, dates and fees with NAVIGO's official training information before enrolling.
