Raymarine’s Axiom 2 chartplotter adds a six-core processor, faster chart rendering, HydroTough displays and expanded integration across three display sizes.
Raymarine has introduced Axiom 2 with a six-core processor that improves start-up speed and chart rendering compared with the previous generation. The company says start-up is around 10 percent faster while chart rendering can be up to 30 percent quicker.
The display uses one-gigabit networking and a HydroTough nano-coated touchscreen intended to remain responsive in wet conditions. These changes target the areas crews notice most during daily bridge use, including boot time, panning, zooming and repeated screen interaction.
Axiom 2 ships with next-generation LightHouse Charts, which Raymarine says redraw up to three times faster than earlier versions. The chart platform also expands regional coverage and supports smoother panning and zooming across navigation data.
The LightHouse operating system continues to combine chartplotting, radar, sonar, autopilot and video functions on the same display. More than 30 compatible apps can also support functions such as entertainment, weather, lighting and vessel monitoring.
Axiom 2 is offered in 7-, 9- and 12-inch formats, with both non-sonar and RealVision sonar-equipped versions available. The sonar model adds 600-watt CHIRP capability together with DownVision, SideVision and RealVision 3D imaging.
For yacht refits, the range gives installers multiple screen sizes while retaining a common software and networking environment. Engine integration and a three-year warranty further position the product as a mainstream navigation upgrade rather than a specialist stand-alone display.
