Seven Southern Wind Yachts Complete Ibiza JoySail 2026

A sizeable presence in the Ibiza fleet

Seven Southern Wind yachts took part in Ibiza JoySail from 17 to 20 September 2026, accounting for a substantial share of the 20-yacht regatta fleet. In a company-contributed report published on 25 September, the yard combined the fleet's racing results with the owners' and crews' time ashore.

The gathering brought yachts from several Southern Wind design generations together on the waters around Ibiza and Formentera. It is a retrospective account of the event, not an announcement of another race or a new yacht delivery.

Gelliceaux and Kalantis lead the results

SW108 Gelliceaux finished second in the Performance Cruising Division, while sistership Kalantis placed third on her Ibiza JoySail debut. SW96 Liberty followed in fourth, according to the builder's event report, showing a closely placed group of its yachts in a competitive fleet.

In another division, SW105 Kiboko took third, while SW100 Starfall raced with the youngest crew in the fleet. Those individual positions should not be combined into one fictional overall Southern Wind ranking, because the divisions are distinct.

Fortissimo takes her first race start

New SW96 Fortissimo made her competitive debut after a maiden voyage from Cape Town, bringing the builder's latest sailing yacht from delivery passage directly into the regatta setting. The appearance adds a useful first competitive reference to the project's build and launch story without establishing a long-term race record.

Custom RP-Nauta 100 Morgana also featured, with the builder recognising the coordination of her professional and amateur crew. The Southern Wind release describes the event as an opportunity to compare crew work and yacht handling, not a controlled engineering test of different hull designs.

The owners' programme matters too

A Southern Wind Family Dinner preceded the sailing and the yard's community gatherings continued through the event. For privately owned sailing superyachts, a rendezvous can join competitive sailing to the practical exchange of owner experience and crew relationships.
