A larger pool can be an important guest amenity, but its water also adds weight high in the vessel or close to the stern and creates loads that change with filling level and motion. Water treatment, pumps, filters and controls need space, reliable electrical power and safe access for maintenance in a corrosive marine environment. The owner should establish whether the system uses seawater, freshwater or a separate treated circuit, since this decision affects materials, cleaning arrangements and waste-water handling.
