Videoworks has issued technical details of its completed digital refit aboard the 60m CRN charter yacht ELENI, covering multi-zone audio, a 115-inch upper-deck screen and Wi-Fi improvements.
Videoworks has released an extensive technical account of its audiovisual and connectivity refit aboard the 60-metre CRN motor yacht ELENI, carried out at Amico & Co in Genoa. The supplier's 15 October 2026 release describes new external sound systems, an oversized upper-deck display, improved wireless coverage and updated guest controls.
The work was already reported earlier in 2026, so the latest announcement is a detailed presentation of the completed upgrade rather than evidence of a second new refit this October. That distinction matters for owners tracking a yacht's maintenance history. ELENI, delivered in 2011, remains an active charter yacht, making guest-facing technology particularly important.
Superyacht interior design may remain attractive for decades, but the equipment hidden behind panels ages differently. Display formats, streaming platforms, Wi-Fi standards and the software controlling integrated entertainment systems change far more quickly than the yacht's structural components. Owners therefore face a choice between occasional targeted upgrades and allowing a collection of increasingly incompatible devices to remain in use.
Videoworks' work aboard ELENI follows a previous intervention roughly two years earlier. The latest phase concentrated on modernising the existing audio, video and information-technology infrastructure without describing a major rebuild of the hull or guest accommodation. This approach can help preserve attractive interiors while addressing practical problems guests notice immediately.
The project included renewed audio coverage for the beach area, main deck, Jacuzzi and bar. New speakers and amplification were selected to create more consistent listening conditions across open deck areas, where wind and background noise can make conventional indoor systems less effective.
A multi-zone distribution system allows different guest groups to hear separate programmes or choose synchronised playback through the yacht's advertised Party Mode. Personal-device streaming uses Sonos and AirPlay technology. Such flexibility must be balanced with sensible volume management, particularly near neighbouring yachts or guests who prefer quiet outdoor areas.
The main new visual feature is a Samsung Micro RGB display measuring 115 inches, installed in the upper-deck salon. Videoworks presents the screen as suitable for cinema-style viewing and live sport, with a large image that can serve groups without requiring a traditional dedicated theatre room.
Cabin displays and televisions in the principal lounges were also updated, while retaining their earlier overall dimensions to limit the disruption to fitted joinery. For refit managers, that detail illustrates the value of choosing equipment compatible with existing wall recesses and mounting systems. A new display may nevertheless involve additional changes to cable routing, heat management and switching equipment.
Videoworks introduced a Sports Bar mode that lets a guest continue watching a sports event while playing separate background music through the audio system. The feature is available in the two main salons and the owner's accommodation. It may seem a small software convenience, but a flexible source-and-speaker arrangement can make the lounge work for very different occasions.
Behind such a feature lies careful signal routing and a clear interface. Crews require dependable control over inputs, levels and fallback modes, while charter guests should not need a technical briefing simply to switch between watching a match and listening to their own music.
The supplier carried out a wireless signal survey before adding new access points in areas identified as weak. The yacht's updated network works with its existing Starlink connection and is intended to offer more stable connectivity throughout guest spaces. Separate cabin networks allow guests to manage their own streaming more independently.
Coverage and internet capacity are separate concerns. Installing additional access points can solve an indoor dead zone, but it cannot guarantee an uninterrupted offshore satellite link. Effective yacht networking also calls for appropriate access controls and maintenance, especially when guest devices and critical operational equipment share parts of the same infrastructure.
Updated iPads and a revised graphical interface bring controls for television, music, lighting, blinds and climate functions into a more coherent experience. Videoworks says the objective was to make everyday use intuitive and reduce the need for crew intervention when guests want to adjust their immediate surroundings.
An integrated system can simplify the experience, but it also makes software support and cybersecurity important over time. Owners should request documentation of user permissions, backup procedures, replacement-device compatibility and how key functions operate if a tablet or wireless connection fails.
Videoworks and Amico & Co describe a long working relationship involving complicated yacht installations. Amico & Co project manager Jacopo Parisi praised the coordination needed to meet demanding delivery requirements, while ELENI's captain Michael Hole highlighted the resulting sound and picture quality and the importance of working within the operating budget.
The October report demonstrates that practical refit value can come from carefully targeted systems rather than only visible changes to accommodation or exterior styling. For a 60-metre charter yacht, consistent entertainment and connectivity across numerous guest spaces may make a meaningful difference. The confirmed milestone is the supplier's newly published account of work completed aboard ELENI; no further unannounced changes should be inferred.
